Myriad Productions is an inter-cultural ensemble specializing in the presentation of rare and challenging world theatre. The company draws on a rich heritage of drama from across the globe to create a distinctive approach to performance.

Cultural awareness and cultural realities are changing more radically than ever before and we live in a world where people of different cultural and ethnic origin meet and mix freely.

This creates both the possibilities for a re-assessment of our identities and the opportunities for an enrichment of the theatre experience.
Placing a strong emphasis on movement, gesture, and visual impact, Myriad’s methods borrow from the vigorous physical techniques of European dramatic traditions such as Commedia dell’Arte, Bouffon and Guillare as well as the storytelling traditions of southern and eastern Asia such as Kathakali, Kabuki and Noh theatre. These are combined with the techniques of the epic chorus incorporating music,
song and dance to produce performances of “physical beauty and lyrical ardour.” (Michael Billington, The Guardian)
